The dqpb LAB provides an additional virtual layer on top of an existing media lab, in a media-archaeological, historical, and technological sense. By observing human responses to auditory and visual stimuli through EEG, we are collecting data wirelessly in a surrounding that is close to the everyday experiences of our participants. While following the rigorous standards established in Cognitive Sciences, we attempt to avoid conundrums of human responses in white-room scenarios. Through replication of historically shown effects and expanding them in this unusual setting, we push the boundaries of knowledge on perception and cognition of perception, cognition, and the apparatus to observe them.
